Where the standard container today is made from plain corrugated paper, thus easily susceptible to damage, ours is molded as a solid board, boasting pure virgin craft sheets laminated to approximately 3/32 thick. Two such panels are made each the size of 71 1/2 x 46. The two panels are then laminated together inserting five hardwood frames in-between the two panels (see picture -->).
The three layers are then put through a laminating press which makes it one sturdy and solid panel, with a thickness of 3/4 or 7/8, depending on the thickness of the wood that was used. The same process is done with two other panels. The container consists of two such thick panels, each sectioned into five parts by four creases. The immediate effect of creasing heavy board is that the fibers will tear. But this will not occur with our container. Due to a special process, it is able to maintain the amount of 380 lbs. stencil strength per inch at each crease. We poly lined the container inside and outside (optional) to enhance its appearance and cleanliness. This also serves as protection from inclement weather.
You can order a regular, closed-top wooden pallet from your own pallet supplier, made to a dimension of 48x 48. Our company will supply a template that will guide the pallet supplier where to attach 10 pieces of wood, each measuring approximately 9 1/2 x 1x1. These wooden pieces attached on top of the pallet are perfect guidance for assembling the container and it will firmly lock the walls of the container into place (<-- see picture ).
Or, you have the option of buying a pallet supplied by us. This pallet is for permanent use (as is also our container that can be reused many times), and is constructed differently. It has a 1 laminated hardwood top (<-- see picture ) which is rounded perfectly fitting the dexigon shaped panel and bordered with galvanized steel or plastic angles, enabling it to act as a buffer from inevitable chips to the pallet, and to firmly lock the walls of the container into place.
We have inserted T-nut inserts in the center of each section on the bottom of the panels with corresponding notches on the steel or plastic angles. Simply screw bolts through these notches to the T-nut inserts, and the pallet with the container will become one strong single unit.
The legs to the base that we use can be very easily attached and removed when not in use, and can be replaced if accidentally broken (see picture -->). This feature will be very advantageous for easy storage, space saving and shipping.
We believe that our pallet will outlast the life of plastic pallets many times. As the plastic pallet is made form very thin plastic and easily broken by the forks. Whereas our pallets is made from 1 laminated hardwood and being 4 elevated from the floor the fork doesnt reach it as often as in plastic pallets. The legs of the pallet are made from 1/2 thick laminated paper cores and are insulated with hardwood which makes it very hard to be broken by forks.
The following are the instructions on how to assemble the container:
1. With the provided pallets, either from our company, or from your own supplier, (which has guidance how to assemble the container) set up one panel in the shape of a half moon on to the pallet as seen on picture (-->). If you prefer, you can attach the panel to the pallet with the bolts that we supply, as instructed above.
2. Repeat the process with the second half of the dexigon.
3. Slide in the two specially designed plastic pieces, provided by us, to join the two panels together as seen on this picture(<--).
4. Fasten the five straps (see picture -->) to ensure that the container becomes one single unit and is ready to be used.
In the event of shipping bulk mail or small parcels, it wont be difficult to reach the bottom of the tall container, which is 46 high. This is because we constructed it with a door, which opens approximately half the height of the container, as seen in picture.
You have the option to buy a hardwood laminated cover, 1 thick with rounded angles, attached all around to ensure safe stacking of containers.
The 3/4 thick container can hold the amount of up to 10,000 lbs on top of it, and the 7/8 thick container can hold up to 15,000 lbs.
The container is also available with swivel wheels for easy movement.
The container is also available with webside printing.
An advantage of the container having a wooden core is that it could be made into an insulated collapsible container. Ten sections of styrofoam, 14 1/2 wide x 43 1/2 high x 1 1/8 thick each, will be glued in to the inside of each panel. Each of the ten pieces of styrofoam will be molded in such a form that when assembling the container, one panel will interlock into the other.
The dexigon lid being molded in the shape of the open container 1 1/8 thick and the base 1 1/8 thick as well are both removable. It can also be reused many times.
Being that the container is 46 total in height and the styrofoam panels are 43 1/2 high, it will leave 1 1/4 space on the top and bottom for the lid and base. We use a rounded wooden cover, strap the container from top to bottom so that the container will be completely sealed.
